He truly cares about the animals in his care. For example, my stepmom's cat was staying the night in his clinic and he said that he checked on her late at night after thinking about the issue she was having. He has been like this over a course of four dogs and about four or five cats.
Dr. Confer has cared for my two dogs for seven years. He is always very informative, thorough, and has a great sense of humor. Dr. Van Gorder has recently given our dogs their annual shots and helped us find solutions for a seasonal allergy issue one of our dogs has every year. After some shots and antibiotics, she's feeling very comfortable again.
On top of all that, he doesn't cheat anyone with overpriced visits.
As a previous reviewer pointed out, they weren't taking new patients a few years ago. This is no longer the case, but as the owner of current patients, I'm glad I can get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time, unlike other places that overbook. I have NEVER thought the desk staff was rude.
I grew up taking our pets to Leland. He is very caring and very knowledgeable. I trust him 100% and would recommend him to anyone who was looking for a great vet. He has a great sense of humor, very compassionate and doesn't sugar coat things. He is fair priced and honest. He has a love for animals that shows in his work. Love him!
